Flapper Detective and Coco
A little doodle from my painting desk.
I have my suspicions that the central young lady may be the influence of the exquisite Fyodor Pavlov.
This is from 2006, which feels like a MILLION years ago to me. I found it while organizing some old folders, I had completely forgotten about it. I was trying to draw in a completely different way back then.
Looking at all this old art is kind of freaking me out tonight, but I’m trying to get a new website in order (cuz my current one is SO OLD and AWFUL) so it must be done.
Here is the first page of my story for the Smut Peddler comics anthology.
(Bigger version here: Smut Peddler page one)
It’s a 20 page story about Rita and Josephine, two run away buskers who lightly scam Morris, a very nervous young fellow and have some dirty adventures at a sexy party. It’s set in the 1920’s, which are so crazy and rad and I’ve always wanted to set a story there!
It feels strange to have finished this big story and not be able to share it yet! I will post more preview pages when we really start talking about fundraising and printing the book. It is going to be one doosy of a collection with so many talented people involved, I am EXCITED.
