A Softer World is one of my all time favorite web comics, it’s also one of the first web comics I ever read.
I met Joey for the first time at MOCCA fest 2003 when I was in college, most likely around the same time he and Emily started A Softer World. He was sharing a table with Ryan North and I gave them a postcard with my art and phone # on it and they joked around as to weather or not I was giving them my digits. They were the friendliest, funniest, easiest to talk to dudes and I liked them instantly.

For me, A Softer World captures the feeling of picking up a zine or hand made comic at a con and feeling like it was written just for you. A Softer World is a secret on a note passed to you by a friend in class. I am sad to see it go, but I can’t wait to have this beautiful book of secrets in my hands.
