A small sample of my full page comic in this month’s issue of Bitch Magazine, for their Adventures in Feministory series. The only way to see the full comic is to pick up the issue in print or ebook! The theme this month is love & lust.
Gerda Wegener’s work was a huge influence on me and she remains one of my favorite artists. I’m always amazed at how little recognition she gets. I wish more of Lili Elbe’s work remained, her story is sad but inspiring.
A movie is apparently being made about the two of them, although it’s based on a book which completely changes who Gerda is. I can only hope it will treat their story and Lili’s struggle with the respect it deserves.
