My favorite part is where he says that every time he’s done a project “just for the money,” it’s backfired. To paraphrase: if you do something just for the money and it doesn’t work out, you’re left with nothing. If you do work you want to do, if the money doesn’t come at least you’re left with the work.

Inspired by this Comics Alliance article, which stated, regarding many female comic characters, “They read like men’s voices coming out of women’s faces.”
This isn’t to say men can’t write good women, or shouldn’t write women. It’s great when anyone writes fantastic female characters. But as far as I’m concerned, a lot of comic writers have never written women at all, only hollow wooden sex puppets.

Apparently drawings that I do while sleep-deprived and caffeinated to the point of shakes come out better than stuff I draw at any other point. The man with the monocle worries me in an arousing way. I think it’s the undercut.
Here is the commission (for lovely youborneo) that I was working on this weekend, when I wasn’t powdering 18th century wigs, strapping my husband into a corset and performing with him on the stage of Webster Hall. I don’t often do fanart in general, but this was a really beautiful concept and I thoroughly enjoyed it. So there we are! A Saint Severus Snape tattoo.
